Questions partners ask

Answers before you book.

If your question isn't here, ask it on the first call. That's what the call is for.

The audit
Is the audit really free?

Yes. There's no fee for the audit or the report. We earn our fee if you choose to have us build what the audit finds.

Do we have to hire you afterward?

No. The report is yours either way, and you're free to use it to plan the work internally.

How much of my team's time does it take?

A few hours spread across five to seven business days: a 30 to 45 minute call, a short follow-up list your operations lead can usually finish in under an hour, and the findings meeting. Sometimes a short call with the staff who run a workflow.

Who should attend the findings meeting?

Every partner who would weigh in on the decision, plus whoever runs operations.

The build
Will this disrupt busy season?

We schedule the build around your deadlines, and you choose the start date. The audit itself takes a few hours of your team's time across five to seven business days.

We already tried AI tools. Why would this be different?

Most tools need someone inside the firm to set them up, connect them to the rest of your software, and keep them running. That person usually doesn't exist. We do that part, and we stay on to maintain it. We also start by making the software you already pay for do more, before adding anything new.

Our practice management software has AI now. Why do we need you?

Use it. Built-in AI works inside one tool. Most of the hours we find are in the handoffs between tools: documents to the books, the books to the return, finished work to the invoice. We connect those, and we build on the AI features you already pay for.

Why not hire offshore staff instead?

Offshore staff lower the cost of each hour. Automation lowers the number of hours. Offshore teams still need training, review and management from your senior people, and your clients' data leaves the country. You can use both: automation for the repetitive steps, people for the judgment.

Is this about replacing my staff?

It's about taking repetitive work off their plates so the same team can serve more clients. What you do with the hours is your call: take on more work, move people into advisory and CAS work, cut overtime, or stop hiring for busy season.

Do we have to change software?

No. We build around the practice management, document storage, bookkeeping and tax software you already use.

How long does implementation take?

A typical build takes two to three months, with the highest-impact system live inside the first month. Your audit report gives your firm's actual timeline.

Client data
What access do you need?

None to start. The audit begins with a conversation about your numbers. If a large figure depends on how work runs in one of your systems, we may ask to see it, read-only or over a screen share, and you can say no. We sign your NDA before you share any documents. For the build, we agree on access in writing before any work starts.

Do AI providers train on our clients' data?

No. We use providers whose business terms exclude training on customer data, and we list each one.

Do you have a SOC 2 report?

Not today. We'll complete your vendor security questionnaire and work within your firm's WISP. See Client data for the full list of commitments.

Cost
What does it cost?

The audit is free. The build is priced from the audit findings, and every recommendation shows its cost and its return, so you can decide with the numbers in front of you.

What happens after launch?

We run and maintain the systems on a monthly retainer, report on hours saved each month, fix anything that breaks, and keep finding the next workflow worth automating.
